first_imgGreyhound Derby FinalWimbledonTIME: 9.08pm, SKYTHREE BUT FEARFUL OF ONEIt’s the greyhound Derby final at Wimbledon tonight and it looks a wide open renewal.I’m keen on trap 3 BALLYMAC VIC who comes out top on my figures by just over 10 spots – or just over a length if you prefer. The Irish trained dog has only been beaten once in the competition so far – that was in the quarter finals when beaten into second by Droopys Jet (trap two tonight). He’s started favourite in all his heats and could easily do so again as it’s tight between him and Droopys Jet at the time of writing. The value in the race could be the one – Sidaz Jack for Charlie Lister OBE who won this in 2011 with another lightly raced sort in Taylors Sky who snapped the hoodoo of trap 1 winning the Wimbledon staged Derby. He’s usually fast away from the traps and with a good break tonight could easily cause a surprise. He’s only ever had six races in his life, is a young dog and for me rates a big danger with his energy from the traps. We’ll stake on 3 and 1 with a profit guaranteed if one of them wins.STAR FORECAST(stake between 0.5 and 10 points)6 points win TRAP 3 (Greyhound Derby 9.08 Wimbledon)4 points win TRAP 1 (Greyhound Derby 9.08 Wimbledon)(NO BET Thursday)Never too late to learnA Mexican grandmother has graduated from primary school at the age of 100.Manuela Hernandez, who was born in the state of Oaxaca in June 1913, left primary school after just a year to help her poor family with the household chores. She only resumed her studies last October at the age of 99 at the recommendation of one of her grandchildren. She has now been handed her diploma at a celebration held in the southern Mexican state.last_img read more
